I agree with the arguments put forward by the petition and find it grossly unfair that medical students are being penalised in this fashion. I have a daughter in law who is studying medicine in the Netherlands and is affected by the ruling. I have a nephew, who studied medicine and is now a consultant in UK. His wife also studied medicine in UK and is also now a consultant. The daughter of my partner studied medicine in UK and is now a senior registrar in a hospital in Australia. None of them were able to take a part time job to finance their studies in their masters years. The workload is too hard and the hours to be worked as part of their training too long. The argument put forward that they should be able to do both their training and a part time job is unrealistic and preposterous.
